Kelly Haas PhD
Kelly N. Haas is a postdoctoral skin microbiome researcher at the University of California Davis Medical Center (Dermatology) and California State University Sacramento (Biology). Her PhD was completed at the University of Massachusetts under Jeffrey Blanchard, where she focused on the gut-associated family Lachnospiraceae, including
discovering, characterizing, and sequencing several novel bacteria. She is especially interested in the microbial ecology and feedbacks between the microbiome and the host, as well
as translational research in inflammatory skin conditions like acne, rosacea, eczema, and alopecia. Much of her postdoctoral work has focused on methods development and
optimization for the skin microbiome, allowing more accurate capture of the human skin microbiome profile.
